Latest News...November 26, 2006 - Team Courtsports defeated Lethal Weapon (formerly called Mackay Trophy) at Warner Pacific College on Sunday night. From the tip off Courtsports never looked back and defeated Lethal Weapon very easily 101 to 79 in Portland A League Championship game. Erik Sigurdson (captain of Team Courtsports) tried to reschedule the game for the following week due the the Thanksgiving holiday because two Courtsports starters were out of town- Damon King and Randy Schott. But Lethal Weapon's team captain, Curtis Wilson, said they would take the forfeit if Courtsports didn't have a team Sunday night for the championship game. "That just shows how bad they wanted to beat us to take a forfeit on a championship game if we couldn't play this Sunday night." "It was great to crush Lethal Weapon without our full squad," explained Sigurdson.

Courtsports Team Roster 2006-07 :

November 1, 2005

Team Courtsports is creating a lot of hype in the Portland/Vancouver areas. Teams are beginning to load their rosters with new players, especially during the playoffs. We are excited to play against new talent anytime and anyday - so bring it on! It's also encourging to see other teams sticking around after their games to watch us play. We hope they can take good notes on our team and play us more tough and make the games more competitive. Afterall that's what recbasketball is all about, fun competitive games.

Most of the wins the past three seasons have been by huge deficits. So when teams like Mackay Trophy get so excited to beat our team it makes us feel great! All good ball teams have nights where they play out of their minds, it so happened that Mackay Trophy had one of those nights. I can't remember them missing a three point shot the entire night, yet we only lost by a few. The next time we play them it will be a different game because we will play defense, which is something we don't often do. Normally our offense is enough to win games.

Team Courtsports ended up in the number one spot for the third consecutive league going into playoffs. Reality set in with Mackay Trophy after beating them easily Sunday night at Warner Pacific College. The first half they actually played us tough. But the second half we went out playing defense and shut them down inside and out. Although smaller inside Team Courtsports punished their big men. Josh and Brian ate their big men up inside all night long - weight room! Hopefully we can play them again in the playoffs for our third consecutive championship title. The next time we face them we will play them harder than ever before.

All players please click on this link to Erik Sigurdson so I have your email address on file. I will send you updates when they arrive to me.
