RECOMMENDED COURT FLOOR CLEANING BY COURTSPORTS
It's very important to implement an effective cleaning routine. Most court floors are used all day long and are often abused with street shoes, equipment, chairs, and tables. The dirt and grit that is tracked onto your court floor surface is very abrasive. If the dirt and grit is not picked up off the floor daily, your court floor will become dull and slippery. Your court floor should be cleaned several times during the day to keep the dirt and grit off the floor. Keeping the dirt and grit off the floor will maintain gloss and traction.
PROMOP GYM FLOOR MICROFIBER CLEANING SYSTEM
The COURTSPORTS PROMOP is made from aluminum so it's durable, light weight, and easy to use. It's telescoping handing can be adjusted to fit each user. The PROMOP includes a MICROFIBER FRINGE PAD attachment for daily dry mopping and a MICROFIBER CLEANING PAD attachment for wet mopping. Each microfiber pad attachement is removable and washable. Extra microfiber pad attachments can be purchased seperately.
DAILY DRY MOPPING USING THE PROMOP
Each facility will have a different cleaning schedule based on it's court floor usage. But the standard rule of thumb is to DRY MOP the court floor after each activity. If this cleaning schedule cannot be achieved at your facility, the minimum should be to dry mop the floor in the morning, afternoon, and evening each day the court floor is being used.
WET MOPPING USING THE PROMOP
Wet clean your gym floor using the PROMOP and a solution COURTCLEANZE™ COURT FLOOR CLEANER CONCENTRATE. This removes the sweat, soils, and spills that dry dusting leaves behind. Wet cleaning your floor with a solution of COURTCLEANZE™ will help to maintain the traction tight surface needed to play basketball, volleyball, and other sports on your maple sports floor. Each gym floor should be wet mopped at the end of each day.
COURTCLEANZE™ COURT FLOOR CLEANER CONCENTRATE
The most effective cleaning solution is a mixture of warm water mixed with COURTCLEANZE™ COURT FLOOR CLEANER CONCENTRATE. Dilute COURTCLEANZE™ (1:10) in a bucket of water. Remove the MICROFIBER CLEANING PAD from the bottom of your PROMOP and saturate it in the bucket of cleaning solution. Ring the microfiber cleaning pad out and attach it to the bottom-side of the base of the PROMOP using the Velcro strips. Start on one end of the gym and mop the entire surface. You should remove the MICROFIBER CLEANING PAD and clean it in the bucket of cleaning solution as often as needed. Do not saturate the court floor - be sure to ring the MICROFIBER CLEANING PAD each time it is used.
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
Using a Buffer – Shoe marks and scuffs can be removed by using a white pad and buffer (150-175 rpm) with a (1:10) solution of COURTCLEANZE™ COURT FLOOR CLEANER CONCENTRATE. Lightly mist the floor with the solution as you buff. Periodically clean or replace the white pad. Continued use of soiled pads will cause streaking.
Using an Autoscrubber – if you choose to use an autoscrubber use NEW white pads, dilute COURTCLEANZE™ to the same 1:10 ratio and ensure machine is properly adjusted to remove all cleaner immediately. No moisture should remain on the floor. Wipe up any remaining moisture using the PROMOP with MICROFIBER CLEANING PAD ATTACHMENT. EXCESS MOISTURE CAN DAMAGE THE WOOD and cause cupping. Make sure all residue from the white pad buffing/cleaning procedure is removed from the floor surface; immediately tack the surface using the PROMOP and a MICROFIBER CLEANING PAD attachment.
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
Place proper walk-off mats in doorways to keep out dirt and grit.
Install Felt Pad floor protectors on tables and chairs used on the hardwood floor.
Replace HVAC filters often.
Avoid excess moisture from tracked in water, leaks, or over-maintenance such as wet mopping.
DO NOT USE DUST MOP TREATMENTS
ONLY USE DEFENDER LOW TACK TAPE BY COURTSPORTS ON YOUR GYM FLOOR.

The PROMOP features a heavy duty aluminum telescoping handle. The 48 inch mop base is made of aluminum and features a twist lock connection. The rotation at the base is 360 degrees which makes it better than most competitive court mops that don't swivel properly when making turns.

INTRODUCTION TO VOC'S
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in conjunction with the coatings industry, formalized in 1998-1999 a series of regulations to limit VOC emissions from architectural and industrial maintenance (site-applied) coatings. These regulations, especially by 2004 standards, are reasonable from a compliance and technology standpoint. In these regulations - 40 CFR Part 59, Subpart D - varnishes are listed at a VOC of 450 g/L. A coating manufacturer making a 500 or 550 g/L varnish could pay exceedance fees, which often resulted in lower cost than reformulation of their product line. The national regulations also included tonnage exemptions. The EPA document allows states and regions to impose stricter regulations based on environmental and meteorological needs. That is where the real difficulty for the coatings industry and varnish manufacturers began.
SOUTH COAST AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
California initiated the original coatings industry VOC regulations, and has continually pushed the VOC regulations lower. Within California, the various regional Air Quality Management Districts (AQMD) can set even lower limits. The lowest limits in the United States are set by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), which includes within its jurisdiction Orange County and Los Angeles. The current SCAQMD VOC level for varnishes is 275 g/L. The South Coast district will do away with the exemption for varnishes in containers of less than one liter in size.

DEFENDER™ COURT FLOOR PADS
THE DEFENDER™ BLUE PAD is a stiff, blue non-woven thin pad. The pad has an open surface configuration and a unique “crusty” feel due to grain being applied to the first few layers of the surface. The center of the pad is designed to soften the abrasion. THE DEFENDER™ BLUE PAD removes a minimum amount of finish and leaves a fine “haze free” scratch that is not visible through the new coats of finish. The scratch pattern is sufficient to promote adhesion to the next coat of finish. It was specifically developed for between coat preparation of waterborne finishes, however it can be used for all types of finish. THE DEFENDER™ BLUE PAD is aggressive for knock down grain raise and removes small amounts of “trash” from properly dried sealers and finishes. It is also safe for use on game line paints, large painted borders, and keys. DEFENDER™ BLUE PADS are available in 12 inch, 16 inch and 20 inch.
